Arts Council England------supported artist.

Tianyi Li is a London-based dance artist whose practice bridges contemporary dance, classical ballet, and Chinese dance traditions. She holds a Master’s degree in Dance Performance from the University of Chichester.

Her choreographic voice is rooted in fluidity and transformation, drawing inspiration from ballet, Tai Chi, and modern dance to form a movement language that transcends stylistic boundaries. Influenced by the philosophical principles of Taoism—softness, continuity, and the unseen energy between gestures—her work explores how subtle physicality can evoke deep emotional resonance and cultural reflection.

As a dedicated dance educator, Tianyi was teach Associate students at The Royal Ballet School, sharing her expertise in both ballet and contemporary techniques with young dancers of exceptional potential. She is also invited to teach professional-level contemporary classes and workshops at Rambert (2025).

Tianyi also serves as the Artistic Director of the London Chinese Dance School and the UK-China Dance Association, where she has been instrumental in shaping cross-cultural dance education in the UK. Her teaching philosophy centres on musicality, spatial awareness, and individuality, empowering each dancer to discover their unique artistic voice.
